I have had an amd athlon mp comp for a couple years now. And although the performance was never quite as impressive as i had expected... i have been relatively happy with it.

However this machine is definitely getting slower as time goes on. I am running the same programs with the same data-sets. I can't even tumble in texture mode any longer in my 3d program without the machine locking up... then rebooting.

Anytime i work with textures in (opengl?)... either i get a 5-10 second pause in operations before continuing or the machine starts thinking forever... then crash. i read something about poor agp support... could this be the problem? any comments would be greatly appreciated...

I have done the following:
boosted ram from 512 to 2Gb
upgraded the firegl4 card to an nvidia quadro 750 xgl.
i tried an ati 9600xt as well... same issues

may be the CAP onboard being old date

i find my TYAN S2466-4m using some rubycon YXA and YXG Cap

Which is for general use and not design with mainboard.

After i change it to MCZ class CAP, all go well ^^
