Hi everybody
I upgraded my processors from 2200+ to 2800+ and I have
tyan S2462 ThunderK7 motherboard.
For the new processors I needed to flash new BIOS which I did and reset CMOS afterwards. Tyan website says new 2.14 BIOS supports 2800+ processors
but my computer still doesn't recognise them and shows 1900 instead.
What else can I do to make it work?

It sounds like you have the FSB set to manual.

Your old processors were 133 MHz FSB processors and the new ones are 167 MHz FSB processors.

Does you board support 167 MHz?

No the MP2800+ is a 266 bus cpu...

Model: AMD Athlon MP 2800+
Core: Barton
Operating Frequency: 2.13GHz
FSB: 266MHz

right?

That's 16x133...

The XP1900 runs at ~1600MHz..

So from that, verify your bus speed is set to 133 (266) and not 100 (200)...

Anytime you change a cpu in a mainboard the change will force the bus speed to the safest speed which is 100 (200).
