Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can provide some insight into my problem.

I was running an ASUS A7M266-D motherboard with a single Athlon MP 2400 (Thoroughbred). I recenlty purchased an Athlon MP 2600 (Barton) for the second processor. However, when I installed the processor and turned on the computer, the bios started emitting a constant beeping sound, as well as it says that the voltage that would be used could damage one of the processors.

Currently the vcore voltage is set to default by the jumpers. Would it make sense to vcore voltage to 1.6V (what the Barton requires), which would underclock the Thoroughbred (usually runs at 1.65V)?

I don't think it works that way. I'm pretty sure you need to have the same type of cpu.

Athlon 64 3200+ 939
Zalman 7000 All Copper w/LED
MSI Neo 4 Platnium
2 x 512 Corsair Value Select RAM DDR400
MSI 6600GT PCI-E Video Card
OCZ Modstream 450 watt
Coolermaster Stacker Case

I would try using both cpus at the lower vcore setting and try that

also from what i heard on ehre that if you have les volts youg et more amps which is bad (may not be right but may also be right lol I don't know, just stating what could happen)
