I have multiple servers running that have Tyan motherboards with dula Athlon-MP processors. Due to one having a problem over this past weekend, I finally got the lm_sensors program running and discovered that all the servers are showing the CPU temperature at or near ~173 degF (+/- 2 degF). The temperature limit is set for 80degC which is very close to where the temperatures all seem to be running at.

Is this typical of all Athlon-MP CPU's or are they all running way to hot? The heatsink assembly used is a Global-Win copper series CAK-II 68, is there something better that can be used and still fit within the 2U server box?
