I've decided it's time to upgrade my laptop; the HP tx1420 looks very nice but many folk have complained about difficulties getting everything to run in various tx1000 family machines. I'm planning to install Fedora 9; it's what I use today on my Sony Vaio VGN-A290. Has anyone experience or advice on this?

The video card is NVidia GeForce Go 1650; the screen resolution is merely 1280x800 but basically OK -- particularly since it's a touchscreen.

Did you have problems getting the wireless working? Make sure you use the newer b43-fwcutter driver, not bcm43xx since that is deprecated. The nvidia drivers should easily give you that resolution (open source ATI drivers give it to me on my Arch Linux laptop). But I'm not too sure about that touchscreen.
