So I downloaded Firefox 3.0, extracted it and now there is a second icon on my desktop that says Firefox 3.0.

Is it installed?
How can I tell.

This is on Suse 9.3 Pro.

Thanks for any help.

From your post, I am assuming that you extracted the Firefox 3.0 tarball to the desktop. There should be a readme file within the extracted files that tells you how to install Firefox from source.

As you've probably guessed I'm totally new {about 5 hours over 2 years} to linux.

I looked for read me files in both Firefox 3.0 and my current Firefox browser. I didn't find anything. Now I'm back on XP. Tomorrow I'll recheck the Firefox website for instructions. I didn't find any before downloading Firefox 3.0.

Thanks again.

Found it in the Firefox knowledgebase. Hope that helps!
