Picked up my 940 and a second 4850 last night and tonight after I get home from work I will be installing these sweet peices of hardware.

Hopefully I won't be back on here on my laptop looking for support, I've already updated my BIOS and all my other hardware is good to go.

did you get the 1ghz or the 512mb 4850?
nevermind-read your sig.

i really noticed a good improvemant when i switched to the 1ghz cards.
you will like the 512mb in cross fire.
i want to see your benchmark scores (3d06 and vantage) just to see what i gained in scores over the 512mb cards, also to compare with the 260/216-yes yours GURU

have fun with the build

I got a second 512 but it will do and it has a smaller size than my first 4850 which is good because my case is kinda just big enough for my first 4850.
As well I get to use my Arctic freezer pro CPU cooler.

It really is...LOL... I'm watching this thread and the 3Dmark Benchmarks thread waiting for your results, as I want to see how the Crossfire 4850's perform with a Phenom II as well.

Your system is very similar to mine, same mobo, same amount of RAM, same Gfx Cards (CF 4850's, with similar speeds yours 690/1173, mine 700/1150) and I'm hoping to get a PHII 940 before long as well... to metamorphosise my system from a Spider to a Dragon...LOL...!!

Looking forward to your results..... surely you can squeeze in an hour or 2 to get it setup.... give your daughter some calpol and try to get it done while she sleeps...!!

But on a serious note I hope your daughter gets well soon...!!!

She did pretty good last night but again I work 12 hour shifts and I get home at 7 or 8pm. I wind up giving her a bath me or my wife gets her down. Last night me and the wife sorted our laundry which has been sitting on the washer for a week or so.

And tonight I do believe we are disassembling some furniture in our spare room to make room for my computer desk as we are having new flooring put in and we are painting next weekend. I have monday morning to do all the install work and get it all fired up. Hopefully i'll have time to run a few benchmarks before I leave for an appointment at 11, if not I will be running them either when I get back or in the evening.

However tonight it won't work.

I hope my wee girl is ok, her mother was taking her swimming today and I still haven't heard how that went but I assume it's all good.

It's so funny, after I picked up my CPU and GPU I put them in my backpack and now at work they are sitting on the desk next to me. I even grabbed a dragon decal from the Auto custom shop just next to where I work.

Nothing worst than having what you need but not the time to use it...!!!

I normally find things the other way around, too much time, but having to wait for what I need...

Not sure about the time differences over there, its Sun 7:25pm right now here...I'll be watching out tomorrow for your results....

Hope you can have some spare time to get around to it...!! Sounds like your going to be quite busy the next few weeks...

As we will be on the weekend, I'd check in the morning as it is 12:31Pm right now, I plan on benching ASAP, I don't foresee any problems as my system has been rather stable with my 9950.

Hi guys , I am so happy with AMD right now , I ran my Athlon Duel core 6400+BE for a long time waiting for Phenom II to arrive . It was worth the wait in gold to me . I almost waited even longer for Phenom II X4 945 but I figured I'll build a Phenom II X4 945 rig later on with some DDR3 memory and use this rig for my back up . The price right now is only $235.00 , dont second guess yourself , pull the triger & order 1 today ; )

Indeed I paid $289.99 CDN and it went down from $379.99 so it really was a great deal.

Kazgirl,
i am running crossfire 1ghz 4850s with the 940.
take a look at my scores if you want-not too bad.
i am hitting the wall at 3.8ghz (motherboard)

just corious as to why they used an GX MB instead of the FX for all the testing they did-maybe a better overclocker?
