Ok so i have noticed recently that my 955 processor with standard cooler run dangerously close to te reccomended limits of 62 degrees.......
I serched all the forums and have not really found a real solution for this other than to buy a aftermarket cooler, something i didn't really want to do because a four core cooler should be more than enough to do the job even when tweeked to 3.4 right? Well apparently not......... or is something wrong......
I was going to post on here askng for help with this situation worrying for the life of my computer however i have found a very simple and free solution which has perminatly fixed the problem, if anyone has the same problem with the same processor and this 'fix' works let me know.
Quite simply remove the fan from the cooler unit via the four clips being careful not to break any. This is the good bit..... Turn the fan over so it is sucking through the four core cooler unit instead of blowing through it onto your mother board.
Simple
I have lowered my running temp by doing this alone by between 8 and 10 degrees, which is alot if you ask me.
Which brings me to this question, have AMD been fitting the fans to the coolers backwards? I would like to know and i would like to know if anyone else gets the same great results!

I smell something burning......

The 955 do run hot but i never let my get over 55C cause i have software that shut it down at 55C my ideal it like this 27C idle and 38C load but i have the CoolIT Systems Domino Advanced Liquid Cooling System ) and 6 Fan in a Antec 900 Case... I tried flipping the fan so it wasn't blowing onto the motherboard (With the stock fan) and my load small FFTs went from 55*C to 49*C, I like it. Though it is a LOT louder now.

Oh and Crysis Warhead went from 46*C to 42*C, another welcomed change.
