Hi, the Six-Core "Thuban" coming out later this year has caught my attention. I know it will be Socket AM3 compatible but my question is will it be DDR2 Memory compatible. The reason is because I have DDR2 memory that I would love to use if it would be. I know that not much information was released so no one probably knows. I just would like to know what you guys think.
One thing is I'm still running on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+. So is it a better idea to wait for the new chipset to come out, or go and buy a am3 board. Do you think its possible AMD will have it DDR2 Memory compatible *I have 16GB of DDR2 Ram
If its not possible I'll most likely sell 12GB of it and leave 4gb in the machine and let my father use it at his office.
An i7 would be my first priority, but depending on the compatibility and probabilty of the new 6-core i may just go with a phenom ii x4 925 until they new cpu comes out
