Manufacturers deals with these things a bit differently. Some will update their cpu support lists almost as quickly as the new CPU's are announced, long before they are released. Other manufacturers wait until the CPU's are on the market before they do this. ASUS in general doesn't update until you can actually buy the CPU in stores so just wait a bit.

Asrock just pulled every last inch of there AMD bios collections for all AM3 boards off line, Asked why I just got told to make way for new bios versions for the phenom II X6 CPU,s.

Even my beloved 785GXH is pulled off line to load the new bios collections.

So boys and girls, looks like I was right. All AM3 boards will get the added support.

My favorite board get's it's update and now I don't have to replace boards hella ya.

Money is ready to be spent on a T1090.

I emailed asus support to ask if my beloved m3a78-cm will be x6 compatible. I received a swift "no, only the M4 boards will support the thuban x6's". Even though the box my mobo came in clearly states "AM3 CPU 140w Support!".

So emailed them back...that was monday. Its now ~5pm-ish wednesday...I will be emailing them back.

It wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't built people small rigs with the false knowledge that one day they could do drop in upgrades to re-ignite the firepower of their current rigs. Now I'm left with my foot in my mouth, customers calling me wanting money back and all I can do is tell them to contact asus support as well.

p.s. I've noticed that the M3A78-CM no longer list's am3 support... sad...
