Is the vcore voltage intended to jump all the time between 1.26 and 1.44 volts, even when the cpu is idle ? I have my 1090T installed on an ASUS M4N82 Deluxe, not an old motherboard but it needed a BIOS upgrade and it only has DDR2 ram at the moment (NVIDIA 980a chipset). Everything works fine so far and i'm really lucky with the cpu. All settings are stock and/or set to auto in the BIOS.

Does this behavior indicate that turbo-core works properly ? And if so is 1.44 volts healthy for this cpu ? My temps seem ok, i have 26°C ambient temperature atm.

Even at idle some apps and OS still work to some degree in the background.

Yes it is 100% normal for boost to kick in as well as c state at this time.

FSB/multi/NB/vcore/ram speeds/p states will all dynamically change at this time.

1090T is Trippe on how it is designed to work. It will jump quite a lot in more then 1 way like the list of items that change I just listed.

How boost works is when 1 to 3 cores are called to use more then all 6 boost kicks in. This is 99% of the time. The only time all 6 cores are ever used even is if the app is 100% multi threaded.

Windows 7 is multi threaded optimized but not multi threaded in nature. It will force all apps to use all 6 cores YES but it will only use 1 to 3 cores on a day to day basis.

This is why BOOST is such a awesome idea.
