Does anyone have any knowledge or experience using a Phenom 960T in an ASUS M4A78 PRO motherboard?

No your mobo dose not support that cpu here's the cpu support list for your mobo

Thanks... I saw this list but since there is no reference to bios 1701 I thought that perhaps 1701 will support the 960T but that the list has not been updated. Is that likely?

Its posible that thay didn't update the list but if you look at release date of 1701 BIOS update its 2010 and the 960T didn't come til 2011.
And Asus just added the 960T, 975, 980 to the list for my motherboard only after releasing the latest BIOS update (3503) wich came out on 2012,01,31

What you say makes a great deal of sense... Maybe ASUS will release another bios updae that will take care of this. Here's hoping!!!!!
