High guys, just installed a 1090T on my msi dka 790gx motherboard. Running fine, however I have windows 7 power setting to high performance (minimum cpu 100%) and yet if I monitor it if varies from 800 to 3600gz. do I have to disable c n q in bios? Would turbo still work?
And where is Bulldozer section btw?
Cheers

...no bulldozer section, don't ask.

I would go ahead and disable c&q and see if that stops the throttling, it should not effect turbo at all as that is a separate setting (at least on my Crosshair V Formula it was).

I would disable turbo core too and just OC it to 3.6 and this would stop it from throttling all together.

But I would't recommend going much higher than 3.6 if your using the stock heatsink.

cheers guys, I disabled c n q I will see how I get on. Cannot remember the model of my cooler I have had it for years, it's made by Scythe and has a 130 fan that runs at 1000rpm and cools the chipset a treat. it's a nightmare to fit but is the quietest and best made cooler I have owned (it's on it's second fan!)
Thanks for the replies.
found it!
