I currently have an ACER ASPIRE E380 with an AM2 socket and athlon 64 x2 4200 and a 8800 gt with 4 gigs of ram. I really want a PHENOM but not sure if its possible. can anyone help me?

how do i find out which bios version i have? any suggestions?

oh and by the newer revision does he mean the phenom 9700? the one they took back to work on?

The OLD REV is the 9700, the NEW rev will end in a "50" aka. 9550,9650,9750 etc and will have the L3 cache problem fixed.

And the BIOS revision should show on the screen as SOON as you boot your PC. Or go into setup and it should show. Either F2 or Delete normally. Not familiar with current Acers though.
