Hi

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but I couldnt find a more suitable forum.

I have a 790X-based mobo (specificaly the MSI K9A2-CF), and was considering installing a PCI-e SAS RAID card. However, the manual seems to indicate that installation of a second PCI-e card will knock both slots down to x8. Is this true? The SAS RAID cards I am looking at are 8x/4x, but I have a PCI-e Gfx card which I dont want to loose performance from (geforce 7800GT), so will do without if this is the case.

Cheers in advance

even at 8x you should not lose performance on the video card

if you Have the card now try it now it should not make an problem
CPU-z would tell you on the motherboard page if it was in 8x/8x mode or 16x/8x (think it does)
