This is my first build computer, i still got a lot things need to learn...

This photo i found at newegg but is too small

That's a backplate yes and this motherboard will hold quite a bit of weight on the cooler. Don't know how much, haven't checked in the manual if it says that, but I don't think 800-900 grammes should be a problem.

Ah,thats good then, now i only need to know which cooler to go for.
After comparing AC freezer 64 pro and TT TMG A1,and also the MB layout,
i think will go for TT TMG A1, reason been the mounting clip direction, as CM 690 case have a top fan, so with TT AMG A1 the heat can blow out from the case since the fins are facing the top, while the AC Freezer will face another direction.

Liqourice, since you got the actual board on hand, if can please confirm with me that the retention braceket will make TT TMG A1 fins will face the top...Thanks

*if you guys understand what i am trying to says , please give me some advise.

TT TMG A1

just make sure you are blowing the HOT AIR OUT OF THE CASE.
i know it should be a simple thing to remember but, i have seen/heard many people blowing the hot cpu air back inside their cases, and wonder why the new HSF is making their temps go up.

Well, i just wan to confirm that when the TT TMG A1 fit into the motherboard retention braceket, the fan/fin will face at the top of the case,
Cause i am using CM 690 which mean my MB is going to be vertical.

As the direction of the clip will determin where the fan/fins will face to.
Even AC Freezer and TMG A1 look similiar, but the clip for the MB rentention bracket is different way.

Yeah, dimwit13, that what i am trying to do now so that the air wont blow back to the case, kinda hard when i dont have the actual board on hand, only can compare thru user manual or photos, but i think my HSF will blow the air out with TMG A1.

Thanks for replying me guys, sorry about my poor english too , not really good in explaining things...

Thanks Legit Reviews for Photo.

I honestly don't know how they were thinking when they designed that cooler to face that direction. It's all wrong. It should be exhausting air over the heatpipe and the mosfets to aid cooling there, and the fact that most chassis fans are right behind there. I wouldn't for my life touch that cooler unless I can turn it 90 degrees counter clockwise.

Dont really get it why that direction got anything wrong.

Because for my CM 690 case, there are 2 fan that can be install on the top of the case, which is the heatpipes direction, i think it help ventilation for that case.

if you have top mount case fans (exhaust) then the direction that is in the pictures will work great , if that is what i am seeing.
i wouldnt be to worried about blowing air accross the heat pipes with the hot HSF air.,as long as you have other case fans tht can blow cooler air over them..
the main thing to remember is,make sure the hot air leaves you case.
if you cant get the hot air out, it doesnt really matter how many fans you have.
that is why people on water have many case fans.

i will do more research just in case i am wrong,
Btw, how do we increase more fan when the motherboard only can connect max of 3 case fan?

And how do we determine if is a exhaust fan or intake fan?

Thanks

If you blow 50 degree air on a 80 degree mosfet it will cool the mosfets and their temps will drop a tiny bit. If you don't blow any air on the 80 degree mosfet it won't be cooled by anything, the ambient air isn't enough to make a difference.

Hence, it's better to let the exhaust blow that way than not. It will extend the life of those mosfets a bit. Also, the heatpipe is mounted as it is for a reason. That's where the majority of the coolers exhaust their air on the way to the case exhaust fan.

Liqourice, would it not be better to blow cooler 25c "Outside the case Air" on them then hot 50c case air?
that is what i was trying to get across
and to have him install the HSF correctly, instead of wrong just to have the fan blow air over the mosfets ?
that is why i said "as long as you have other fans blowing cooler air over them"
just my $.02

Of course, but I try to build my systems with a certain kind of flow of air. Just pumping lots of air in and not letting it go out in a good way won't help. If you're unfortunate you only make the same air go round and round inside and that won't do much after a while.

If you understand how I mean. Having different fans blowing air in all kind of directions is not thermodynamically sound.

hot air rises.
intake fans on the bottom front and side.
exhaust fans back and top.
up and out.
that is a good set up-imo

Not sure will add in one more for bottom, cause already got 4 fan, scare will get dusty. will see how hot the case will get then decide.

Cant wait to pick up my stuffs tomorow

Finally setup my comp, and is running fine...will be adding another exhaust fan soon after i get my fan filter

What software do you guys use to monitor the temp?
Speed fan? I am using Overdrive monitor status atm, cause it show all the core temp... Suggestion?

Thanks

HWMonitor shows cpu and core temps as well as other temps, fanspeeds and voltages.

I don't recommend CoreTemp for the Phenom really, it's not very reliable with the way it reports cpu frequencies, and it only shows cpu temp.
