Ok so I went from a basic AMD Anthlon 3500+ computer with 2gb of DDR1, and a GT240 graphics card. Now I am running a Phenom ii 955 BE at stock everything with 4gb of DDR3 1066hrz RAM. I updated the BIOS, made sure Cool n' quiet was disabled, and that the RAM was in Dual Channel mode. Oh, and I formatted the harddrive and did a fresh install of XP 32 bit. Power Supply is 650W, and I'm using the same GT 340 with up to date drivers. However my Fps in FSX don't seem to be that much better. I'm averaging at like 30, sometimes dropping to around 10 at ground level, and spiking to 50/60 when I'm flying high. I also used system mechanic to defragment the harddrive, and registry. I'll post that stupid AMD overdrive score which has never gotten above 8000. So what do you think is causing the issues?

the issue is that you're using a weak video card

Rig 1: AM2 X2 4850e--MSI K9N Neo V3--2x1gb Mushkin DDR2 800--Sapphire HD4830--Corsair VX450--Acer H213H-Win XP
Rig 2:Athlon X2 7850 Kuma--Biostar 780L--2x1gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800--Asus Formula HD4770--Corsair VX450--LG Flatron W2252TQ-Win 7 32-bit Premium

I agree with MrWicked.. the weak video card is a start but I would also recommend updating your OS to Windows 7 64-bit.. Do that and you'll notice a nice improvement in performance. This is also assuming that you have a decent hard drive with good read/write speeds. The hard drive is the most overlooked bottle neck in any computer.

System Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS M4A78-E
Memory: 8 Gig (4 x 2Gig) G-Skill 1066 DDR2
CPU: AMD Phenom II x 4 955 BE @3.8Ghz
Cooling: AC Freezer 64 cooler
PSU: Corsair 750W
GPU: Gigabyte GV-R489UD-1GD HD 4890
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64
