So i've ordered a Hyper 212 Plus to help keep my chip cool but i am concerned that i can't find any Rubbing alcohol or other popular chemicals that is used to remove old thermal grease where i live(Egypt), the best i could find is Ethyl Alcohol 70%.

What else can i use to safely remove the grease without damaging my chip? i was told that Ethyl alcohol is bad and useless and will damage the chip, i read at some places about people removing it with dry cloth and others doing it with perfumes etc...

a razor blade should get most of it off. can you not find alcohol wipes at a pharmacy,
(for people that get insulin shots)?

if you can't find them, scrape it off with a blade and then a dry rag to buff it clean.

Perfume contain iso-propyl alcohol, you could try nail polish remover, look for one that has no fragrance in it etcetera.

If that fails, take your 70% alcohol and freeze it as cold as you can, pour off the alcohol, the water should freeze first.
