I have an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor, 3.2  Ghz on a 32 bit operating system. I have an HP S2031 monitor. The system is stable on my integrated graphics card, but the monitor shuts down when I add the Radeon HD 6790 graphics card. The monitor is refreshing at 60/min. Is this a BIOS problem? A monitor problem? I no longer have the Radeon card's driver on my machine, but it was fully updated, and the monitor still shut down.

what do you mean when you say it shuts down. do you get a bios screen at start up, does it load a windows screen?

did you tell the bios to use the pcie card?

what connectors are you using.

you have to go into the BIOS and switch the settings to PCI-E to get the card to work. So don't worry theres nothing wrong.
