so, windows 7 pro action center tells me that my processor's power management driver is not installed.  the action center points me to AMD's site to download and install the driver.  the installation places a listing for "cool'n'quiet 2.18.01" in the start menu.  clicking the icon brings up the message "this cpu doesn't support cool'n'quiet function."

what is happening here?

Do you have it enabled in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI? Do you have your power management set to balanced in the OS' control panel?
