and Phenom processor AMD HD9500WCGDBOX Phenom 9500 Quad Core Processor 2.2GHz 4MB cache 95W Thermal Design Power Processor

Is there any Troubleshooting for these things ?

I have the setup you are thinking of getting, it works OK, not brilliant, just OK as far as I am concerned.... maybe things will improve over time as better BIOS support becomes available.

I got slightly better performance from the 6400+ than I do with the Phenom 9500.

If you are buying a new mobo, I would recommend that you get an AM2+ mobo, like the M3A series from ASUS for example.

Also I would consider getting the 9600 Black Edition which will be available before long, or wait for the newer Phenoms without the TLB errata which wil have different model no's like 9550 etc...

I have a BIOSTAR TA690G AM2 Micro ATX and was wondering if Phenom would be an option on this board ? And if support for this AM2 board will be available further ahead for Phenom. Any news would be apreciated

Yeah I want to know as well since I also have the Biostar TA690G. I have sent biostar 2 emails and still haven't gotten a response. I did notice however the Toms Hardware has an interesting article up on the issue and they point out that the ASUS version carrying the amd 690G chipset DOES support phenom. I guess I'll just have to keep checking. If anybody hears anything post it here please.

I called BIOSTAR and the answer is No. The latst firmware R69AMC13.BST does NOT add support for phenom. As to support in the future it did NOT sound likely.

ok thanks for the info , I orderd a AMD 5000+ Black ed at new egg for 99.99 , should be ok for the moment

Yeah I just ordered the same chip. That chip is supposed to overclock ez. Should be fun.
