I picked up the XFX nForce 750a Motherboard at Fry's the other day and figured since it offers an AM2+ socket, I'd drop in a Phenom 9850 or 9950. Well what I didn't find in the documentation was that the socket accepts 95w CPU's. Uhm... does that rule out higher wattage CPU's? Can I bump up the voltage in the mobo or am I stuck with a 9750 CPU?

I hope it's not to late to add to this topic...
I *also* recently purchased a system with the XFX 750a motherboard. The company was out of the AMD 9750 CPU, so upgraded me to the 9850 Black for free. I have the system here and have been using it for a couple of weeks now with no issue - until I read the 95W limitation on the XFX website.

I posted a request for advise on XFX's website, but haven't gotten a response yet (it's only been one day).

So, what is my situation now? What will happen if I continue using this CPU/motherboard combination? Temperatures have been running very reasonably so far (CPUTIN has been up to 51C on a hot day last week, Core temp has been as high as 60C). The motherboard really *is* an excellent design, I hate to throw it out.
