hi i bought Phenom8450 with tihs motherboard : asus m2n-xe

and i put 2 * 1 gb ddr2 800 of ram but it does not work probably

so i put 2 * 1 gb ddr2 667 of ram but the computer restart automaticllay

every 2 hours and some times less than 20 minute

so what is the problem and does this board supported this cpu

and does i need to update my bios and from where ?

please help me soon

Asus motherboards need to have 2 things done out of the box: Clear CTC Ram (check manual for instructions) and updating Bios.

Then, check this thread:

to see if your CPU is overheating and causing emergency shutdown procedures.

The utilities disk comes with ASUS Update, a utility that finds and loads the newest bios for you.

However, i think your computer is overheating. take care of that first, and then try to update bios. the last thing you want to do is have the computer overheat and shut off in the middle of a bios flash.
