I have an Acer Aspire AS5515 with a 1.6 GHz Athlon 2650e. I am curious what my upgrade options are for this system. I have had a hard time finding much documentation/info from Acer. I have the latest bios installed (dated 5/21/09). Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

I should have mentioned, this system has the AMD RS690MC/SB600 Chipset with ATI Radeontm Xpress 1200 Graphics.

yeah i have the same laptop and i would also want to know because well 1.6Ghz just isn't enough.

There is a chance it might be embedded to the motherboard
I suggest you to open the laptop and take a look first

Oh I actually forgot it is possible since it is actually AM2 compatible
But it seems a lot hotter TDP from 35 to 45 Watt...
Not going to do it since my current processor reach the thermal limits
If you are going to do it use AS5 or MX3 as the thermal paste

it is very intensive in part replacement/compatibility and how to disassemble/reassemble your Acer Aspire 5515

@Weinter: as far as i know and have read, the mainboard for the 5515 is not Phenom compatible. also because of the Phenom's high wattage(80w+), i would not recommend inside a laptop/notebook.

@brando0525: This processor is better than the one posted http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819103279 and is compatible with the Aspire 5515.
