As the topic title says, when is the Congo (second generation ultrathin) platfrom being released? I noted that HP have refreshed the dv2 lineup with the dv2z but this is still using the Yukon (first generation ultrathin) platform chipset. All the articles I have read on the interwebs report the release being due at the end of Q2'09.

I am hoping that the Congo platform finally includes a 45nm processor which seems likely, as AMD has today updated its price list (TECHREPORT) and has dropped the last generation K8 processors.

With Intel supposedly delaying the launch of Pine Trail (the Atom CPU & chipset upgrade) until 2010 (DIGITIMES) and 12" being the new 10" in sub-notebook screen size - the Congo platform looks like it will easily challenge the anaemic Atom "Menlow" platform and the hopefully the Intel CULV platform.

How recent developments are already out?

The Congo platform is already out, as much as I know. The basic is the new "AMD Athlon/Turion Neo X2" CPU. This is basically a K8/10 mixture, like the old Turion X2 were and still in 65nm, as you also can see at AMDs roadmap: Congo = Consensus:

There's e.g. the HP Pavilion dm3-1000 with this kind of processor at the moment.
Also, Lenovo is planning to come out with a ThinkPad X100e and ThinkPad Edge including this kind of processors.
I believe the dv2z is available as Yokon or Congo platform. But it's probably easier to find them via their new/other? name: dv2-1110eg and dv2-1120eg.
