I bought a laptop on eBay and the seller claimed it was a 2.0Ghz mobile Athlon 4, but I cannot verify that model CPU even exists. According to the laptop manufacturer (Sony), this model came with a mobile Athlon 4 - 1.2Ghz CPU.
Am I getting a snow job from the seller?
The specs from the unit say it has a "Family 6 Model 6 Step 2 ~1200Mhz" processor... what is that?!
Any assistance would be appreciated as I am getting ready to file a fraudulent representation claim with eBay against this seller if he has posted a misleading description of this unit.

The Athlon 4 was the predecessor of AMD's current Mobile-CPU line, the Athlon XP-M family.
QUOTE The specs from the unit say it has a "Family 6 Model 6 Step 2 ~1200Mhz" processor... what is that?! This is a Palomino-core CPU, so it's an Athlon 4(the AXP-M uses either a T-Bred or Barton-core, IIRC). Since it is clocked at 1200MHz, it's rating should be 'Athlon 4 1400+', i think. It is possible that there was an Athlon 4 2000+(i don't really know), but there is no Athlon 4 that is actually clocked at 2GHz. The rating 2000+ gets often confused with a real 2.0GHz clockspeed...still, there is no way IMO a 1.2GHz Athlon 4 would get a 2000+ rating.
