Now that XP 64 bit has gone gold, (I have it installed on my M6809 laptop, downloaded from MSDN, legally! does anyone know of an ETA on a Powernow! driver for the CPU from AMD?

One thing I love about the XP 64 bit is that it lets me run this laptop at full power while on battery (XP32 bit would force it down to 800Mhz and I couldn't increase it while on battery). However, at 2.0 Ghz, all the time, it CHEWS through the battery in like 45 minutes.

Was hoping to find something that would either dynamically throttle, or let me select 800Mhz, 1.2Ghz, 1.6Ghz, or 2.0Ghz....

Any word on PowerNow drivers for XP64?

I emailed AMD throught their website last month after I finally was able to install the beta version on my laptop with a mobile 3200 and the response was that they didn't yet support it on the 'beta' version of windows. My problem though is that it stays at 800MHz and won't go above that. I have noticed though that what ever is built into the x64 Windows will change the HTT frequency instead of the multiplier, but still doesn't go above 800MHz. I was hoping that they would include it in the full version of Windows x64. Try emailing AMD to see what they say now.

I don't know about you, but it frustrates me that the company that has been pushing 64 bit processing doesn't even support their own 64 bit hardware, even for testing to us in the real world.

When anyone gets an update, please post!!!
