Hello,

I am quite new to this forum. I am looking to buy a AMD Athlon 64 based laptop. I already own a Copaq R3000Z CTO with AMD64 3400+. I LOVE that puppy. I am looking to buy simillar or better laptop. I am having problem finding one. Hp/Compaq stopped making Athelon 64 based laptops. All they offer is Turion based ones. I am not sure if Turion is as powerfull as regular Athlon 64 Processor. I have not seen any reviews comparing them both.

I guess I am looking for some input from you guys.
a. Is Turion as good as Athlon 64 in terms of raw processing power?
b. Any other manufacturere making athlon 64 based laptops. (mobile or regular)

Turions are power optimized mobile versions of the Athlon 64. At a given equal clock, they will perform equally, but with less power consumption, i.e. longer battery life, lower heat...

DTR or Desktop replacement Notebooks will run regular Athlon 64's since they are big and generally heavy.

Acer, Asus, MSI, HP/Compaq all make AMD laptops in some form or another...
