Hi- I downloaded the AMD CPUInfo tool to see that everything was copacetic with the CPU and to gather whatever info I could about it. Just nosy I guess.

The thing is, under current processor speed it shows 1015 mhz for both cores. It shows MAX speed as 2400 mhz.

Is it something that it ramps up to if it needs it? or am I running at less than 1/2 throttle? Truthfully, I had expected to be blown away by the speed, coming from a Pentium 3.06 ghz notebook based on the X2-4800 specs, but I am a little disappointed. I looked in the BIOS and there are no clock settings there, so unless they are hidden, it doesn't seem to be modifiable.

I am not looking to overclock, just to get up to full speed.

Any response is appreciated!

that's the cool n quiet/powernow feature.
when idle it slows down or just uses how much power you need. i believe there are 4 levels/speeds depending on what you're doing or not doing.

i suppose you can turn off the cool n quiet to test it out.
or do something strenuous to see how the power kicks in when you need it.
