Why dosen't AMD make chipsets for notebooks like Intel do with e.g. their Centrino package?

AMD should at least make a reference platform for Mobile Athlon 64 notebooks in my opinion, but I can't understand why they haven't done this already.

VIA does a really bad job at promoting the Athlon XP-M & Mobile Athlon 64 as viable alternatives to Pentium M, since most vendors reports problems with this combination and refuses to make proper mobile products with AMD processors. I think that if AMD had a proper reference platform to show off this attitude has to change eventually.
