Crrently, I get a lot of crashes in game while using the following setup.

350W psu

A7N8X-E Deluxe (SATA/Raid, 10/100LAN, Gigabit LAN, Soundstorm, Wifi)

1G DDR400 Mushkin 2.5-3-3-7 dual channel (512x2)

AMDxp Mobile 45W running at 1.65v 200x11 (it can load windows and run several benches at even 12.5 or 2.4ghz....amazing)

9800 pro 128

80G HDD Maxtor 7200 ATA

SB Audigy (onboard sound disabled.....this is not a forum for comparing soundstorm to audigy)

currently disabled are the GbE, the Sata/RAID (untile I get a drive), the onboard sound, and the wifi port.

Game will install, upgrade, and run flawlessly all windows applications, including monitoring tools, memtest, mem-test86 (from teh boot disk). IT won't run Prime95 on many FSB/multiplier settings, unless the FSB is scaled back to 133 or 166. Stock, the chip is rated at 1.83ghz for 133x14.

Crashes occur when running DoomIII and BFvietnam, the only currently installed games. Only new components are the motherboard, processor, and 1 of the 512 sticks of RAM. G-card has no problems before playing those, and other games with an AMDxp 1.47ghz processor (1700 I think) with only 768 MB of DDR 2100.

mem-test86 reveals only 6 faulty addresses overall for both sticks, within acceptable limits.

I believe it crashes and inconsistently runs Prime95 (when it fails, it cites an unspecified "Hardware Error") because of fluctuations in power consumption. All other applciations, such as IE, music, program installation, virus scans, etc cause no problems, however are not utilizing full function of the RAM, CPU, and VPU at the same time.

Doom and BFv do.

thoughts? I think it needs a new 450W.
