I recently bought a notebook HP Pavilion 6128eu. The processor is Turion 64 MK36 and I would like to know if is possible to upgrade it with a Turion 64x2 processor. Someone told me that I can,but I need to upgrade the bios also.
Is it true?
Thank you very much.
A Bios update might not be necessary since the dv6128eu is just a pre-configured version of the dv6000z series for which HP offered the Turion 64 X2 processor as well. So, yes you can definately upgrade the cpu and it should be easily compatible with the existing BIOS.
PS - If you want to you can download & install the latest bios for your system from HP.com
