I'm new to all this...so any good advise would be appreciated.
Currently have Dell Inspiron, 1501 TL-60 2G and would like to upgrade to TL-66 2.3G.
Can this be done? and will it be worth it?

Yeah, thats quite possible but not really worth it IMO. The 300MHz bump in clock speed is going to seep things up a bit but the user experience is still going to be pretty much the same as the 2.0GHz and unless you have a specific requirement I wouldnt bother upgrading the cpu.

It's not worth it, honestly. Save the cash and put it towards a desktop. Gaming desktop, surfing laptop. If you do it the other way around your gaming will suffer and it will be prohibitively expensive. If your other components can't keep up with your processor it doesn't really matter how fast your Turion is. Unless you just want it for Folding@Home.
