i have an hp laptop with an atholon 64 3000+ processor that i just reformatted and updated but im still missing the sm bus controller driver. How can i find out what chipset my pc has and where can I get the driver?

In the device section , windows devices look up the devices needing drivers and high lite them. At the bottom it will give the stamped code of the device. type this name (code) into google and enter your OS and driver at the end of it. Then download a driver matching your code and os needs. Its as easy as eating pie.
