Hi everyone.

I've been running Folding@Home on my carefully vented laptop with AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-52 processor. The temperature has gotten as high as 74 degrees C while I've been paying attention. When it gets into the mid 70s, I scale the CPU frequency manually down to 800MHz.

What I want to know is, at what point should I really begin to worry about CPU temperature? I'm unable to find an exact number. Maybe I'm using the wrong words.

Many of the Turions have a T_case of 95'C, so they are able to handle heat that can be present in laptops. I have seen upto 85'C in real usage, so I take that as safe limit.During continuous load I think max 75'C and below is safer in the long run.

The OPN code on the die of your CPU will tell the T_case value.

Over here some info. http://fab51.com/cpu/guide/opn-s1-e.html
