Hi,
I can't seem to be able to replace the amdk8.sys file in the Windows/System32/drivers folder.
Windows 7 is just blocking me from replacing it even though I'm logged on as an Administrator.
Hi,
Ive done the above meathod of changing the amdk8.sys file, however when I go to up the voltages even just the first step in RM clock (to around 1.2mhz), the CPU temperature goes crazy and almost reaches 100 degrees C! Has anyone else had issues with this? I know the leptop runs hot without the software but im sure that this cant be right.
Any help would be great.
i made the change (though i needed to take ownership of the file) BUT .... sound is really starting to annoy, in every movie/song/youtube video... sound starts to crackle...
the cpu is always at 2.2Ghz and its ok... cool with that, i started to notice the decreased performance of hi def videos when it wouldnt play at all... now everything runs smoothly except sound... anyone knows how to fix this ??? do i need to go back to the windows 7 amdk8.sys ???

I installed Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 on my ancient A1667G. My problem is also the cursed 800 MHz barrier. I've used XP's amdK8.sys and it didn't help. RMClock didn't help either.
