I was wondering if Phenom II N620 2.8Ghz is more power efficient than Turion II N530 2.5Ghz? Since they both have 35W TDP and Phenom II N620 has faster freq. ? My guess would have been that Turion II should be more power efficient?

Why AMD doesnt give out the voltage ratings for these processors? *doh* I find this naming scheme is in my opinion quite confusing.

Yeah there is not much info out there for what you are specifically looking for, but a 300MHz difference is not going to me that drastic of a difference in the efficiency dept. Ultimately though, the N530 would win if you were looking specifically at the data results due to the lower clock IMO.

Same die size amd same TDP. Even the cache is the same.

N530 might save 5 min tops on the battery giving it,s 300 Mhz lower clock rate.

Think I would rather have the N620 my self.

They are likely the same - MHz doesn't necessarily indicate power consumption. 5 identical CPU's will have s5 slightly different power consumptions: The 2800MHz part may therefor uses the same power as the 2500Mhz.. Could go either way though. If you want to save power and money look at the 25W TDP 2300MHz Turion X2 P520! The slightly lower performance may be worth the battery life -> how often is your CPU pegged at 100%!
