I have heard that the Turions downclock memory to 266 if both slots are filled. Has this been fixed or is it still the case. If so this is unacceptable. It is a proccessor advertized as DDR 400, not DDR 400 in some cases.

I dont really understand what you are trying to ask. The laptops that are being shipped with DDR 333 Memory instead of DDR 400. The Turion does not "downclock" the memory if both slots are filled.

Some of the motherboard for the laptops read ddr400 as 333. Changing the clock with programs such as A64 Tweeker can help you overcome the problem .

512x2 DDR400 Before and after changing the clocks.

Note:
The Acer Ferrai has an update for the BIOS so it will support the DDR400 so it wont recognize it as DDR333.
