I have a Compaq Presario v2000 notebook running a Turion 64 (ML-28).

According to this link it should have the SSE3 instruction set..

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Proce...oduc...8_12651,00.html' ">http://www.amd.com/us-en/Proce...,,30_118_12651,00.html

But, cpu-z does not list SSE3 as one of its supported instruction sets. Is this a discrepency? Did I recieve an older processor? Is cpu-z incorrect?

Which version of cpuz? I noticed that the latest one included "Latest Sempron and Turion support improved."

I suspect it is cpuz's fault but it may be the processor, windows, or you bios's fault as well. I can't remember if there were earlier "turion" models.

MY MISTAKE!

Sure enough, it was an older version of cpu-z (116) !
The newest version shows that it does in fact support SSE3. (And shows that it is in fact a Turionn 64 Lancaster, not Athalon 64 Clawhammer!

Thanks!

I can confirm that my ML-37 does support SSE3 as well.

Just to clarify: ALL currently available Turion 64 processors do support SSE3 as they're all rev. E parts /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />
