Here are my (pertinent) computer specs:
Hypersonic AX6 (hypersonic-pc.com)
AMD Anthlon 64 Mobile 3400+ (2.2 Ghz)
Windows XP Pro 2600 Sp2
K8T400M via chipset

Problem:
CPU runs at 800Mhz

Attempted solutions:
Turned power state to always on
Failed: no effect

Installed amdk8.sys from amd.com (amdcpu.exe)
Failed: the computer crashes at random but especially under heavy load

Tried to disable ACPI support in lieu of a conflict
Failed: option not avaiible in BIOS, manufacturer has no update or helpful information
Uninstalled amdk8.sys, now using processor.sys

I'm lost and hoping I dont have to repair this thing.

I have only the turion drivers as downloaded from AMD website.
To set the speed of your processor u can disable/unintall all the programs that manage the cpu speed and install RMClock. It's the best program to manage the CPU speed, works very good and permit u to set all the CPU/Moltipliers pairs that u want from 0.800/4x to 1350/9x.


Try it and u'll see.

I tried going up 1 notch from 4.0 X 1.1 to 5.0 X 1.75 from the default list first, it froze.
So I tried a couple other combinations, they all froze >.<
