hello, i got a Turion x2 64 TL-56, come in a compaq V3000 (V3030CA to be exact) and it just seems to have a constant grinding sound. (like old 486 processors under a heavy load, but a little quiter and softer) when it is idle. when i am scrolling an internet page or doing something, the sound becomes silent and then reappears when idle once again. but if i put my power as "max battery" it becomes silent also. is this a faulty processor? or is the turion noisy by nature? this is NOT a noisy fan as i can distinguish when the fan is spinning or not. ive read somewhere that this could be speaker crackle but i somehow doubt that because it changes under different CPU loads, and power settings. any idea? return to HP?

I'd return it... I hate dishing out good money for junk hardware.

Physics? Ha! This is clearly magic and devilry at work. Prepare firewood! We have witches to burn!
