why AMD Sempron Processor speed decreased after updating

I bought a HP Pavilion zv6000 series laptop from london, it has AMD Sempron™ Processor 3000+ & 1.8 Mhz, 512 RAM. Recently i update the processor from HP site but speed decreased after updating. now it's showing 994 Mhz, 384 of RAM
can anyone tell me why this is happening? but my laptop is working fine, but i need to fix this.
plz help me if anyone knows the solution. is there any software which can determine the AMZ processor speed & Temparature?
you can also email me

Powernow must have been enabled. It controls your CPU speed dynamically to conserve battery and heat output. Thats the reason your cpu clock speed is reading 994MHz. It should go up to full speed as and when needed. The lower amount of RAM is probably due to the memory being shared with your graphics card, since the graphcis card does not have its own memory it uses system memory instead.

Try CPU-Z. It is a much more accurate program to determine your CPU speed and amount/type of memory.
