anyone hear of a release date for a dual core mobile 64 bit, all i can find is 2006, nothing more certain, also can anyone tell me the diff between the athlon vs turion?thanks

It is currently unknown when the Turion64 X2 is going to be released. Most were expecting it on May 9th but the latest rumor is that it has been postponed to June...

Currently the Turion is basically a low power Skt 754 Athlon64. The MT series has a TDP of 25W and the ML has 35W. These are much lower than what the current mobile Athlon64's are currently rated at(62W). Other than this performance wise and architecturally they are similar to the mobile Skt 754 A64.

The upcoming dual core Turions are supposedto be on a different socket - S1 and most probably will be able to make use of DDR2 memory.

so of the 2 it sounds as though the turion is the better of the 2, esp if it will use ddr2, thanks. i had gotten away from using amd due to the p4,800fsb and dual core prescott chip, which is not a bad chip. but boy i cant wait for a dual 64 cpu! although i would rather have 2 seperate cpu's (have had mobo's that supported that and boy did it run nice, even at 90mhz (10 OR MORE YRS AGO!!!. So thanks for the input, will have to do some reading and catch up on amd's sockets and chipsets and cpu's
