Hi,

Im moving parts from my HTPC to my PC *very* soon and im hoping to build a nice low-power-consumption HTPC with a dual core CPU.

I was about to spring for a Core Duo based system but then i read that the Turion X2 would be released May 9th, but i have also read about delays.

I would like to know the following:

1. Is the latest news on the release May 9th, or June 6th(along with M2 socket CPUs)?
2. Is the whole "mobile on desktop" concept something AMD is supporting, ie can i expect to see desktop motherboards with S1 sockets?
3. When would it be reasonable to expect S1 desktop motherboards (ATX or micro-ATX) to show up? Im asking simpyl because if its too far out into the future i think ill have to go for the Core Duo, 32-bit or not.
4. Has there been any news on what integrated graphics will be available on S1 motherboards?

Thanks for reading, hope you can help answer my questions

The last post I saw on this board was for a May 9th release date to the public.

See this post from another user:

"MSI has plans to release a dual core Turion laptop with 12"(MS 1040) and 14"MS 1052) screens..."

Take care and good luck.

J

The link appears to have been truncated, could you repost it?

I wonder whether the availability of turion x2 laptos also implies availability of the CPU itself to end-users...

Please go to the other Mobile forum page and view this entry.

Hope that the X2 Turion is worth the wait.
