Here are the Specs

I am running windows XP home it is a Compaq Presario R3000

from CPU-Z:
Processor Mobile AMD XP-M2800+
Socket 754
Voltage .950
Brand ID 29
Family / Model / Stepping F 4 A
Extended Family / Model F 4
Supported Instructions Sets MMX, Extended MMX, 3DNow!, Extended 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2
Core Speed 798
Multiplier x4.0
HTT 199.5
L1 64
L1code 64
L2 128

Please explain what I have to do so that I can use the full potential of my processor. As I stated before I downloaded the driver that is associated with the 64 bit mobile processors and it lets me crank up the power when needed. I am using Speedswitch Xp. When I do this (install the driver set) I will get blue screens. When I uninstall this set of drivers my machine works fine but I never go over the 797mhz. Any help would be appreciated.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!! I contacted HP support (for the third time) and they figured out that for some reason my machine shipped with an out of date bios. I updated it and WHAM! everything works. Thanks to all who helped!

It is reassuring to hear that tech support does come through sometimes.
Take care and good luck.
