I recently received my new HP Pavilion DV 8013CL laptop. I'm pleased with it; except for one problem. Whenever I go to 'System Properties' to verify the type of processor I have, the speed of the processor changes each time. The first time I checked it, it showed 1.59GHz, then 795MHz, then 1.99GHz, then back to 1.59 GHZ. This is my first AMD processor; is this normal for that brand or do I have a problem? Why does it fluctuate like that? I've never seen this happen before.

The machine is running WinXP Home w/SP2, 1GB Ram. Please help. Should I be alarmed or is this normal for this processor? I purchased it online @ eBay. Thanks.

that would be the PowerNow/CoolnQuiet doing its work.
when inactive, the computer slows down to save power and stay cooler
