Ok i need some opinions. I want a laptop with a turion 64 2.0ghz or more. I also want at least 128mb dedicated video card in it. and i want a 15.4 lcd monitor. My question is what do you guys recommend. Recently I have been debating between some HP and some Gateways, but now I saw this http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/...spec.asp?model=MS-1029' ">http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/...spec.asp?model=MS-1029
I want to know if you heard anything about it or how it is, is it reliable to build my own or not. I have been hundreds and hundres of desktops but never one laptop. I need your opinions and recommendations. I know building one will be more money but at least it will have all the specs i like and might be more reliable.

Im in the same delima as you, but I want a 17" which comes out to about the same price from what ive seen. It kind of depends on what youll be using it for. If you plan to game, ive heard that youll really want either an x600 or better graphics. Even though we are AMD supporters, I have also noticed a lot of these guys running pentium based laptops. right now at best buy you can get a gateway MX7525 for $1200 which is a good deal. its a 15.4" with A64 4000+, X600, 1GB ram, 100gig HDD(but its 4200rpm). I have also seen on ebay a brand new gateway MX6450 platinum edition laptop for $1030 shipped. If youve ever seen this one, its really nice. HP's for seome reason only have the 200m graphics, gateway x300. The 200m does have 128MB dedicated ram with user adj. additional 128mb shared ram. Gateway I think is 128mb dedicated and 64 shared. You can also get the HP DV4000 with X700 but its a Pentium.

I "Second" INFRNL's recommendation of the Gateway 15.4" Mobile Athlon 64 4000+. If I didn't want a smaller display for more transportability, this would be the one I'd pick up...

Heck...If I come into some extra "sneaky cash", maybe I'll get one anyway...
