Hi,

I am looking for a new laptop and I think that I have found a good one (regarding value) HP-nx6125 but I have to deal with a doubt since it is equiped with a Turion ML28 processor. This processor runs at 1.6GHz but have only 512Kbyte of L2 Cache in comparison to ML30 that runs at the same speed but have 1MByte of L2 Cache.
My problem is that I want to know if these processors have a certain difference in speed. /excl.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='excl.gif' />

Comparing this model (ML28) with the relevant centrino which is the faster one.

Also I want to knpw if there are any benchmarks testing Turion processors (Turion vs Turion). /wub.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wub.gif' />

Thank you.

P.S. Sorry for my English but my native language is different (Greek).

Welcome to the forums.

The extra cache will definitely make a difference on the processor. If you have looked at any of the Athlon 64 series you will note that the Athlon 64 3500 and 3700 have the same operating speed. However they have an L2 cache of 512k and 1mb (3500 and 3700 respectively). Thus the cache does make the difference.

What sort of stuff will you be using the laptop for? The ML-30 is good for what most people do.. but if you can get a ml-34 or 37 for not too much more that might be worth it.
