I've got a HP/Compaq nx9105 with an AMD processor in it - I believe it's a Mobile Athlon 64 3000+ ( AMA3000BEX5AR )
I bought, and tried to put an AMN3400BKX5BU and the machine wouldn't start.
What would be the ideal chip to put in as a replacement processor, is the problem that it's got a newark core rather than clawhammer? or that it uses a different power consumption? I've tried updating my bios to the latest version on the HP website (F.35), but I have no idea if there's a more modern/suitable version available. I just wouldn't want to get another processor to find that it's still not the right one.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated =)
