Hi!
I recently bought a new Toshiba laptop just to find out I can't install win xp on it wich I really need. According to other forums the problem seem to be that I need a SATA driver because the xp installation don't recognize any harddrive. It seems just impossible to find such a driver for the new athlon x2 64bit processors. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Peace!

You wont find one, if you are looking for ahtlon64 SATA driver. The SATA drivers are included in the chipset drivers. What chipset do you have - Nvidia or ATi?

You'll find all drivers here on the amd game website...

That is what I thought... I have a DV5z-1000 with a seperate ATI HD3450 graphics card and I have the catalyst drivers. Unfortunately it is a huge installation pack. The device manager under Vista showed AMD RAID Controller and AMD RAID Console. So what specific drivers or files do I need to load on to a floppy in order to get XP to install.

When you have the catalyst pak install, there are several folders with controller drivers - one is IDE, one is IDEATA133, one is RAID, one is SATARAID and one is RAID7xx. Very confusing.

I had no problem doing this with my daughters Intell laptops - but this one seems to be a real pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi!
I have one HP Pavillion DV5 1203ax notebook with following specifications.
AMD Turion 64 x2 processor
ATI Radeon HD3450 Graphics Chipset

I tried to downgrade it to XP but the it seems that the sata driver I'm using is not supported by the chipset. I have tried many times with different drivers but ended up with the blue screen every time.
Can anyone please tell me where I can get the proper driver for the chipset.? Thanks.
